Starting life as a spin-off from Oppo, Realme has become a name in its own right, especially in India and South Asia. However, we called the latest attempt at a budget flagship phone, the Realme 9 Pro+, a little boring and a little sleepy, especially in target markets where high-octane, low-cost competition is overwhelming. So what are companies doing to make up for this? It is clear that the new Realme 10 Pro must have all the answers.

The Realme 10 Pro and 10 Pro Plus were launched in China a few weeks ago and are currently making their way to the Indian market with announcements featuring a curved display on the back.

The hardware has remained unchanged since the launch in China, meaning buyers will get a 6.72-inch 1080p+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate on the regular Realme 10 Pro. Meanwhile, the Realme 10 Pro+ offers a premium 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of performance, the Realme 10 Pro Global Edition is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core processor with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Surprisingly, the Pro+ model has the more powerful MediaTek Dimension 1080 chip that was announced a few months ago and the same memory/RAM configuration as the base model, with a dedicated 12GB RAM option. The phones ship with Android 13, but Realme UI 4.0 under the hood.

While both variants of the phone include a 108MP ProLite main camera at the back and a 2MP depth sensor, the Realme 10 Pro+ has an 8MP ultra-wide module. In particular, the third sensor is located in the cutout of the second camera, which makes it difficult to distinguish at a glance. A 16 MP selfie camera is available on the front of both the devices.

The Realme 10 Pro series has a 5,000 mAh battery, but the Plus supports 67W fast wired charging, while the entry-level model supports 33W.

In India, customers can buy the Realme 10 Pro at an affordable price of $319 in the 8GB/128GB configuration or pay an extra $30 for the 8GB/256GB version. More premium versions of the 10 Pro+ with the same memory combination cost $379 and $399. If you spend an extra $30, you get 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, a difference that reaches $400. But to be fair, the company isn't selling it Realme says both phones will be available in Hyperspace Gold, Nebula Blue and Dark Matter colors. The sale starts on December 14 on Flipkart.

If so, it is unclear when and where Realme will make further progress with the Realme 10 Pro series.
