Realme 10 Pro+ Review: Facing Stiff Competition
The world of budget and mid-range smartphones has gotten dangerously hot in recent years, and while Apple, Samsung and Google are arguably leaders, it's not without serious competition from Chinese brands like Realme. The company's latest phones are the Realme 10 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+, which aim to mirror the mixed reception of last year's Realme 9 series.
At first glance, it may be tenth grade. Realme 10 Pro+ introduces a new design, internal improvements and more. But is that enough to hold its own against Samsung? I've been using the Realme 10 Pro+ for a while to find out.

- Robust design
- Great battery

- Lots of bloatware
- The camera is great
Realme 10 Pro + theme
The first thing to notice about the Realme 10 Pro+ is its design, and while it's not the highest-end phone, it looks good.
The cell phone has rounded edges on the left and right, which doesn't bother me personally, but has become quite old in recent years. Some might not like the way it looks, but then again, I don't mind at all. The power button and volume rocker are on the right side, while there's also a USB-C port on the bottom for data transfer and charging.
The back offers an iridescent coating that looks great in the light, but it's also a fingerprint magnet so you might want to have a cloth or case handy. The camera is also on the back. There appear to be two cameras on the rear, but upon closer inspection there are actually three, including two on the bottom module. I will go into more detail about the camera quality later.
Overall, the Realme 10 Pro+ is lightweight and feels good in the hand. The design is not necessarily innovative, but it looks very good and offers a pleasant user experience.
Realme 10 Pro + screen
The Realme 10 Pro + screen is very good despite the price of the phone. The phone sports a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it smooth and responsive. While I'd like a higher resolution if I had to choose between the two, a higher refresh rate is more important to me. The screen is bright enough for most use cases even in direct sunlight.
Below the screen is the fingerprint sensor, which works accurately most of the time. However, it feels a little slow compared to some pricier phones.
Realme 10 Pro + performance
Under the hood, the Realme 10 Pro+ features a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor with 6GB, 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Depending on the model, you also get 128GB or 256GB of storage. These specs are clearly mid-range, and the phone performs just as well whether it's doing everyday tasks or under a heavy workload.
Multitaskers and power users might want to opt for something else, more powerful - everything else works just fine with this phone.
My experience with this phone is backed up by the benchmark scores we've achieved. These are the results we got:
- GeekBench 5: 834 single-core, 2,357 multi-core
- Wild Life 3DMark: 2,283
That score isn't great, but it's not bad. It's about what we'd expect from a phone in this price range, although there are similarly priced phones that perform better.
Battery and charger for Realme 10 Pro +
The Realme 10 Pro+ has a 5,000mAh battery, which is a decent size. I found that the device easily lasted a full day with moderate to heavy use and into the next day and would last longer if I didn't use the device as often. The 67W wired charging is very fast - it takes the phone from 0% to 50% in 17 minutes. While that's great, you can find phones that charge faster.
The big flaw here is the fact that there is no wireless charging support. Even phones in this price range should offer wireless charging by this point, so it's disappointing to see that's not on offer here.
Realme 10 Pro + camera
Realme 10 Pro+ offers a triple camera array that includes a 108 MP camera, an 8 MP wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro camera. Unfortunately there is no OIS here. While I can understand why companies are still including a 2MP macro camera at this point, it's not very practical and just serves to add to the number of cameras advertised. I wish it was better left out or included.
The main camera generally delivers detailed photos with decent color reproduction. I didn't find the images very clear, but not bad either. There are also some inconsistencies between the images, even under similar conditions. Low-light performance was better than expected and managed to capture some detail even in low light, but again it wasn't very consistent.
The ultra-wide-angle camera is a bit disappointing, however, as colors are flat and highlights are a little washed out. Also, the picture is not very clear. Macro cameras should be avoided as they are not good enough to capture detail or texture. Still, 4K video capture on the Realme 10 Pro+ is decent - colors are solid and there's good dynamic range available.
Overall, the Realme 10 Pro+'s camera isn't bad, but it's far from the best. It can be a little tricky, but basically don't expect any major problems with it. If you're looking for something more reliable, you should look elsewhere.
Realme 10 Pro + software
The Realme 10 Pro+ comes with Realme UI 4.0, based on Android 13. I found the software easy to navigate for the most part, but I still prefer the simpler design of Pixel devices or other Android phones.
Unfortunately, many apps are preinstalled and only a few can be uninstalled. This includes apps from Realme, but also a lot of third-party apps, which I find really frustrating.
Fortunately, this program has many useful features. You can lock apps with a password, and the Auto Pixel feature tries to hide any sensitive information found in screenshots. Some of these features work better than others, but they're still great extras.
Conclusion
The Realme 10 Pro+ is a very solid mid-range phone. It has good battery life and 67W charging is fast enough. The camera isn't bad either, although it can sometimes fall a little short. On the downside, there's no wireless charging and the software contains some bloatware that needs to be left out.
If you are looking for a mid-range phone and can do without some features, the Realme 10 Pro+ is definitely worth considering. Make sure you consider your priorities before making a decision.
contest
Compare the Realme 10 Pro + to other mid-range phones. If you live in an area with the Pixel 6a, it's a much better option overall thanks to a better camera, better performance and a better software experience. There's also the Samsung Galaxy A53, which also has slightly better performance.
Should I buy the Realme 10 Pro+?
Maybe, but you should also consider the Galaxy A53 and Pixel 6a first.
