Redmi Note 12 5G Series Launching In India Soon! 200MP Camera Incoming?
The Redmi Note 12 5G series is coming to India soon. In an official social media post, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of Redmi Note 12 5G series smartphones in India. The teaser image also shows the design of the Redmi Note 12 5G series, hinting that the same Chinese phone was released some time ago. The Redmi Note 12 5G model was recently introduced in China with a special version with many improvements and a 200W charging solution.
Since Xiaomi talks about "series", it is likely that the Redmi Note 12 5G line will consist of Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Compared to the Redmi Note 11 Pro model released earlier this year, this Note 12 Pro model may offer significant improvements in terms of performance, camera and other aspects. The Note 12 Pro+ may launch a 200MP camera sensor in India, though 200W charging can be ruled out for now.
From the teaser, it looks like Redmi might launch this phone in India before the new year. Redmi's arch rival Realme has launched the Realme 10 Pro series in India and Redmi is looking to surpass it soon.
For the past few years, Xiaomi has ordered the release of the Redmi Note once a year. The presence of the Redmi Note 12 series in 2022 changes everything again. With 5G networks already rolling out in India, Redmi is looking to capitalize on the hype with an affordable 5G device.
Both Redmi Note 12 Pro models in China use the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, a more powerful version of the Dimensity 920 chip. This chip supports 5G networks and offers high performance in the mid-range. The Redmi Note 12 Pro uses a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ uses a new 200MP camera sensor for the main camera.
The standard model uses 67W fast charging, while the Pro+ uses faster 120W charging. Both models have 120Hz OLED displays. The phone also features a new minimalist design that is more similar to the Redmi K50i that was released earlier this year.
