28 Music Festivals Coming To Southern California In 2024
This year, in 2023, Southern California will be alive with great music festivals.
From the classic mixes of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival to Stagecoach, Reggaeton and the Latin flavor of Rosarito Beach's Baja Beach Fest, Spring and Fall editions of Waterfront Park's CRSSD Fest, Latin Sounds Across the Generations, Basem Mucho, New Wave of Brutal World Melody, Shell San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival, Viva DIY Spirit! Pomona, last year's Rolling Loud Hip-Hop Festival in Inglewood and Wild Horses on December 30th at Petco Park was another successful year for the music festival.

February
California atmosphere
The three-day reggae, rock and hip-hop music festival features special performances by Gwen Stefani, Revolution and Sublime, featuring Rome's album 40 Ounces to Freedom. Other artists include Shaggy, Sean Paul, Sojo, Common Kings, The Contractors, Too Short, Marley Skip, Action Bronson and The Pharcyde.

Horizonte festival
Insomniac Events' techno brand Factory 93 and analog house music are joining forces for a day trip to bring the two genres together. They haven't announced it yet, but last year's artists included Dom Dolla, Medusa, Eli & Fur, Peggy Go, Michael Bibby, Annoter, Diplo, Joshua, Charlotte de Wit, Joseph Capritti and Stella Bossi.

For the past 16 festivals, CRSSD has presented San Diego's largest electronic festival. This year's lineup includes Tale of Us, Black Coffee, Armand Van Helden, Astra Club, Dixon, Loco Dice B2B, Nick Fanciulli, Mochak, Jeff Mills, Joris Vorn, Richie Hawtin and Tryme.

Boots at Norco Park
Country star Thomas Rhett will headline Norco's Boots at the Park festival, which will also feature performances by Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, Parmalee, Tyler Braden, Presley Tennant and Louise Lux.

Throw it out loud
The International Hip Hop Festival returns for a second year for three days of music in Englewood's Hollywood Park, next to Sophie Stadium. The show will feature Nicki Minaj, Rae Sremmurd, Sexy Red, YG & Tyga, Post Malone, Suicide, Summer Walker, Big Sean, Bones, Flo Millie, Future x Metro Boomin, Don Tolliver, Chief Keef and more.
When: March 15 to 17

Ascent of Silverado Clover
Los Angeles punk rockers Flog Molly will celebrate St. Patrick's Day in early 2024 with a one-day festival called Shamrock Rebellion. It also features compilations by Frank Turner and Sleepy Soul, Buzzcocks, Front, Amigo Diablo, Nobro, General and Degenerates. The event features local and regional beer tastings for those 21 and older from noon to 3 p.m.

Beyond Wonderland
One of Insomniac Events' longest-running festivals comes home with a crazy tea party at the NOS Event Center. The lineup has yet to be announced, but last year ravers saw performances from Alan Walker, AC Slater, Borgore, Sun Hollow, Slushie and more.

Boots in Long Beach Park
Boots in the Park is heading to Long Beach in 2024 with headliner Lee Brice. Next month they will be joined by Chris Jansen, Lokash, Heidi Merrill, Louis Lux and more.

Boots in San Diego Park
Thomas Rhett will headline One Day Boots at San Diego's Park Festival alongside Lee Bryce, Scott McCreary, Lokash, Rhett Akins and Alana Springsteen.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
The biggest party in the desert returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio in 2024. While the line-up has yet to be announced, fans can expect it to include A-list stars and emerging artists. Temecula-raised 20-year-old singer Olivia Rodrigo has a special non-show April 9-30.
When: April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21

Country music festival "Stagecock"
After the madness of Coachella, fans can don their cowboy boots and ties at the annual three-day country music festival hosted by Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen. Other artists include Post Malone, Willie Nelson and Family, Leon Bridges, Jelly Roll, Eli King, Hardy, Bailey Zimmerman, The Beach Boys and more.
When: April 26 to 28

Adams Avenue is disabled.
Acoustic bands and solo artists will perform for free at nearly two dozen venues along San Diego's Adams Avenue. Artists have yet to be announced, but past headliners include Rock Hall of Famers Chris Hillman, David Lindley and Dave Alvin.

Beach Life Festival
Beachlife, a three-day festival focusing on rock, Americana and reggae, is back in Redondo Beach. Within the festival, there is the popular Speakeasy Stage, where artists perform small music, and two main stages where music is played throughout the day. The line-up has not been announced yet, but will be announced soon.

Alligator Bay
San Diego's Mardi Gras celebrates its 21st year in May with an original program produced by festival veteran Rich Sherman and run by Omega Events in Orange County. The lineup includes CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Southern Avenue, Marcia Ball, Sonny Landreth, Nicky Hill and Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie.

Wanderfront music and art festival
The Waterfront Music Festival returns after a one-year hiatus, moving from its usual November schedule to spring. The schedule has not yet been announced, but more than 80 artists will perform on seven stages during the three-day event. 2022 headliners include Gwen Stefani, Zac Brown Band and Kings of Leon.

Goldenvoice's Cruel World Festival returns to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with performances by Duran Duran, Interpol, Blondie, Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant and more.

This year, the indie music festival celebrating early 2000s music returns to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The lineup has yet to be announced, but last year's lineup includes Empire of the Sun, MGMT, Ladytron, Caribou, Future Islands and Hot Chip.

Joshua Tree Music Festival
This family-friendly music event takes place twice a year in the Mojave Desert. The four-day festival also offers wellness workshops and yoga classes. Artists announced so far include Wonder Negrito, Moon Hutch, Telmari & Habana Sana, Madison McFerrin and Q.Varo.
When: May 16 to 19

Newport Beach Jazz Festival
The three-day jazz festival on the 27th will feature smooth jazz and R&B artists. The full offer will be announced next month, so be sure to check their website for updates. The 2023 lineup includes Bonnie James, Chante Moore, Eric Darius and San Diego singer Rebecca Z.

Baja Beach Festival
Since its inception in 2018, this local festival has become one of North America's top annual events for reggaeton and Latin music fans. This year's lineup has yet to be announced, but previous acts include Bad Bunny, Ozuna, JJ Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Becky G, Yandell and Tijuana's Grupo Farm.

"Summer of 99 and beyond" festival

overcome
After a five-year hiatus and embroiled in legal battles, the high-profile music festival looks set to make a comeback. The Class of 2024 will be held over three days at the Dell Mar Fairground, where Kaabook ran from 2015 to 2019. No cast has been announced, but previous releases include Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker, Robert Plant, The Killers, U-Tang. Clan, Jack Brown Band, Snow Doug, Sherrill Crow and Switch Foot.
When: The date has not been determined.

A show near Adams Avenue
The program for this free festival, now in its 42nd year, has not yet been published. However, past credits include Young No Dout, The Beat Pharmars and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Andy Summers of the Police, Lake, Iron Butterfly and former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.

Same but different
The three-day shore journey returns to Lake Peris for a music, art and wellness festival. The lineups aren't finalized yet, but fans can expect visits from Electronic, Funk and Indi Act DJs.

Nofx's final scene
Los Angeles punk rock band NOFX called it quits 40 years later and will travel on their final tour, which will cover 40 cities and 40 songs at each show. The last three rounds of the division will be held in Sun Pedro. At the Durban festival, Bru Ha Ha Production and Punk are the newest shows for over 21s, every day from noon to 5pm.

Lakeside Psych-Rock Festival returns to Lake Peris after a three-day hiatus dedicated to music and industry. The festival combines interactive art installations spread across the campus. The line-up has not been announced yet, but visitors can expect different types of rock and psychedelic work.

36th Jazztrax Festival on Catalina Island
This year, former San Diego radio host Art Good, founded in 1987, has made the Jazz Track Festival a smooth jazz staple. The band's 2024 lineup has yet to be announced, but the past few years have seen Grover Washington Jr., David Sanborne, George Duke, Tombon Shorty, Mindy Abir, Dave Coz and Foreplay, as well as bassist Nathan East grow up in San Diego.
