Minecraft 1.20 Update Release Date And Features
Want to update the release date of Minecraft 1.20? Us too. The next major Minecraft Live content update was announced on October 15, 2022 and is now officially titled: Trails and Tales. The update focuses on the Minecraft community and their stories. Ahead of the Trails and Legends update's release date, Mojang Studios revealed all the exciting new features we've been waiting for – and we even got access to all the new content from the latest footage.
Minecraft has been one of the best PC games of the past decade and it continues to impress its fans with these yearly updates. Based on community, representation and creativity, we know that the next update will include new Minecraft skins, as well as a new way to customize your outfit with Minecraft weapon skins. There's a new trope in the form of a Minecraft camel — as well as the crowd-voted Sniffer — and yes, some long-forgotten Minecraft archeology is underway. Everything depends on the release date of Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales.
Minecraft 1.20 release date
The Minecraft 1.20 update was released on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Developer Mojang has confirmed the release date of the Trails and Legends update since the release of the initial version 1.20.
This is consistent with previous estimates of a summer release date based on previous content releases. The last four major updates, all but 1.19, were released in June of the year following their announcement. 1.19 was different as it was not an actual planned update but the second part of the Cave and Deep update. Now that all the new content is revealed and ready, a June release date makes perfect sense.
Features of Minecraft 1.20 Paths and Tales
New cherry blossom biome
This is the final entry in the major Trails and Tales update, the new Cherry Blossom Biome. This new biome has long been requested by fans of the game. It features the Sakura trees found in many of the most popular Minecraft mods and always brings a unique new tree type. Plus 1.20 new trees, including two new bamboo species (learn more). This beautiful biome has no new herds (yet), but there are sheep, pigs and bees, and we don't know if this is new grass stock, but hopefully you can see it here. In the photo above, the ground is covered with beautiful pink sakura flowers.
archaeology
That's right, archeology is coming. The feature was originally announced as part of Minecraft Live's Caves and Abyss 2020 update and was later discontinued - at least that's what we thought. At the beginning of the year, the archaeological dig sites were limited to the desert temple area, but it is getting bigger. So when you find yourself in the middle of these rare desert structures, start digging and focus on a suspicious new block of sand that holds mysterious ancient secrets.
Bamboo blocks and rattan
Of course, a new Minecraft update should come with new blocks - after all, it's blocks that make a sandbox game. These new blocks for the Minecraft Trails and Tales update are made of bamboo, which falls somewhere between the wood block family and bamboo itself.
This new block is good for several reasons. First, it provides another use for the fast-growing bamboo, which until now has only been used for panda feeding and scaffolding construction. The bamboo fence can be made from most materials such as wood, e.g. Stairs, doors, tiles and fences, and is even available with a special bamboo mosaic option. However, one thing you can't make out of bamboo is a boat. Technical. The new raft replaces the bamboo time boat and serves the same function, it looks a bit cooler floating off your deserted island or jungle theme.
camels
We soon learned that a new audience would be coming to Minecraft as annual crowd voting returns for another year. However, it has been confirmed that the victorious detective will be joined by another new creation, the camel.
An addition to the ever-growing list of Minecraft mobs, the camel not only adds something new to the often-overlooked desert biome, but also offers a dynamic new way to move around the world. This exciting new monster can be ridden by two players simultaneously, features a useful new sprint mechanic and exceptionally responsive and realistic animations.
Cut off the shelves
If we talk about new materials and new types of wood, then soon there will be another wood material for construction and red stone. The Hash Library is one of the most fun and interesting blocks to add to Minecraft thanks to its groundbreaking effects.
A cut-out bookcase is an evolution of the existing bookcase you can relate to, which can be decorative and useful for recipe preparation, but doesn't function as a bookcase. Now you can write notes and stories in the book and keep it safe on the cut-out shelf. Store your precious spellbooks on a shelf. Even make secret doors with cut-out shelves. Yes, the new block mechanic activates a redstone token when a book is placed or removed, allowing your secret dungeon rooms to become a reality. Oh, and if you have some spare parts, a nice new wood design makes a great floor.
hang panels
With the addition of a new type of bamboo wood and a carved bookcase comes another new woodworking recipe that makes more use of each type of wood. For some time we have been able to produce signs that can be placed on the floor or on the wall. Creative players use it not only for storytelling or messages to other players, but also in structures such as chairs or beds. With 1.20 we see the addition of the hover icon, a popular option for adding life to shops, streets or other Minecraft buildings. Artistic gamers are starting to find another use for their hanging icons by appearing in Minecraft Live in the streamer-like display above.
New characters and skins
The few perceptive people who spotted the new faces in the Minecraft trailer had good news when it was announced that they had been added to Minecraft canon. These new characters are now official Minecraft skins, as Ario, Efe, Kai, Makena, Nur, Sunny and Zuri join pets Steve and Alex. You can now appear as one of seven different new characters in the Bedrock Edition Dressing Room and Java Edition Launcher. So make sure you know how to change your minecraft skin.
armor decorations
Once you're happy with your Minecraft skin, you can further customize your style in Minecraft with the new Minecraft Battle Skins. Armor cutting is not easy, so you will have to search long and hard for new forging patterns to add fantastic details to your armor, bringing a fun new experience to the survival game. Oh, and that's before you collect enough gems or gold bars for decoration yourself.
