Historic Fort St Angelo To Host Electronic Music Event
On the 7th of October, Electronic Music Malta (EMM) invites you to join us for a unique event featuring international and local artists from the experimental, atmospheric and ambient music scene.
As part of the 2023 ring program and in collaboration with the German Malta circuit, EMM brings together Gareth Jones Electrogenetic, Boris Patsube Jogging House and Salvatore Muscat Sequenchil under one roof.
Gareth Jones, best known for his work with iconic acts such as Erasure and Depeche Mode, will perform a live set using a modular synthesizer in a dedicated quadraphonic sound system. A technology enthusiast, Jones pioneered the use of digital equipment (including the then-new sampling technology) and combined it with analog recording techniques. A veteran of electronic music, he began his career at Pathway Studios in London in the late 1970s and helped found Garden Studios in Shoreditch.
A few years later, the musical path took Jones to Berlin, where he worked at the legendary Hansa Studios, where he continued to experiment with the music recording space (among many other projects, he created the "Berlin Trilogy" with Depeche Mode).
Jones finds personal musical expression through collaboration, modular synthesis and lectures at the Red Bull Madrid Music Academy.

Frankfurt, Germany-based synthesizer and composer Boris Potshube, known as Jogging House, combines ambient soundscapes with laid-back grooves and plenty of little melodies and details. With the perfect balance of rounded, emergent and beautiful sounds, Potshub reflects a melodic approach to musical sound and style. This method is a free method of composition, an invitation to a quiet and sensual journey through sound and space.
Over the years Pachubai has collaborated with renowned international artists such as Hainbach, KMRU, Paperbark and Sophie Birch. He also runs Seil Records, a label specializing in the collaboration and promotion of upbeat ambient music releases.
Salvatore Muscat, Sequenchil, is no stranger to the electronic music landscape. Fascinated by 80s British rave club music and influenced by artists such as Pete Namlook, Mixmaster Morris, Doctor Atmo, The Orb and Scanner, Muscat has established himself as a household name in the local scene.
A true fan of Chillout Zone and keen to promote the genre in the local scene, he has performed at many popular events in Malta such as Earthgarden, Unfocused, Boomerang, Cubic, Sliema Arts Festival.

Over the years, he has also participated in many guest shows on radio shows around the world and hosts a three-hour monthly atmosphere program for dedicated radio stations in Asia. His special project Techno for Socialization focuses on dub techno and ambient, which is Sequenchil's hallmark.
The event will take place on the 7th of October in the historical San Fort. Angelo in Gasteiz and will start at 19:00. Tickets can be purchased at showshapening.com. The lecture and workshop will be held on the same day at Spazzoo Creative at 11:00 am and will be open to concert ticket holders and new EMM members only.
