Oppo May Be Preparing To Leave France Following Rumors Of Wider Departure From Europe
Oppo and OnePlus are rumored to be pulling out of the European market due to bans in Germany, but both brands deny this. Now, a new report has provided evidence that Oppo will at least leave France.
Frandroid , according to a source Frandroid spoke to, said that Oppo has "suspended" its role in the French animation commercial.
The leak indicates a sales role and it looks like Oppo will only be promoting in-stock products instead of planning future arrivals. This includes the Oppo Find N2 Flip, the brand's first globally available foldable phone that is not sold in France.
Another source indicating that Oppo is leaving France comes from Oppo contract company Atmospheres. The company has laid off all its employees working for Oppo and will lose its contract with the smartphone brand on June 30, leaving Oppo millions in unpaid wages to contractors.
As the full Frandroid report makes clear, Oppo's presence in France was written on the wall, but the company continues to say it will stay. In a statement, Oppo said it would remain in France after June 30, but did not comment on its atmospheric balance or the number of remaining commercial units.
Speaking more for existing Oppo users than the future, some statements speak for themselves.
Our priority, as always, is to provide the best possible service to our users in France. Users can continue to use Oppo products, access after sales services, receive future OS updates and more. Nothing has changed for the end user.
As mentioned earlier, this comes after Oppo has completely left Europe, something the company has so far denied. But, of course, everything is going in this direction.
