Xiaomi's Redmi brand has gained a lot of interest in the market with its mid-range series of smartphones. Earlier this year, the company introduced three new phones in this series: Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. This smartphone has seen a significant increase in price compared to its predecessor. The cheapest option online is the Note 12 5G, which starts at around $220.
Now it looks like Xiaomi is planning to launch a cheaper variant in the form of the Redmi Note 12 4G. Although the company is yet to confirm its official launch, the phone has already been spotted on Geekbench, which suggests that the launch has already begun.
Redmi Note 12 4G specifications have been announced
The Redmi Note 12 4G will be a mid-range model. According to the Geekbench listing, the phone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor. The listing suggests that the phone might get the Snapdragon 680 version found in the Redmi Note 11 4G. This variant packs a top clock frequency of 2.8GHz and an Adreno 610 GPU. The phone listed on Geekbench has 4GB of RAM. And it can start with at least 64GB of internal storage.

Geekbench specs confirm that the Note 12 4G scored 422 in the single-core test and 1252 in the multi-core test. This phone runs Android 13. And it will probably have MIUI 14 on top of Android.
According to previous leaks, the Note 12 4G will have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. Refreshes in full HD+ resolution at 120Hz. This phone will also have a triple camera setup at the back. It has a 50MP main camera sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth/macro sensor. On the front, there will be a 13-megapixel camera sensor.
As for the battery, the phone has a 5000mAh cell with 33W fast charging support. It will also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster on top.
While Xiaomi is yet to confirm the official launch of the Redmi Note 12 4G, several hints suggest that the Redmi budget smartphone may soon launch in India and other markets. We will share more information about them as they become available.
