Redmi Note 12 Turbo Spotted On China's 3C Certification Website, Could Launch As Poco X5 GT Globally: Report

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series was launched in China last October. The product line includes the vanilla Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro + models. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has added two limited edition variants to the lineup: Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. According to reports, the company is now ready to add another special model called the Redmi Note 12 Turbo to the lineup, which has reportedly been found in China's Compulsory Certification (3C) databases and IMEI certification website.

According to a report by Gizmochina, the alleged Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphone has been spotted on Chinese certification website 3C. The list seems to suggest the phone's charging capabilities. The report suggests that the alleged addition to the Redmi Note 12 series will have support for 67W fast wired charging.

The smartphone was previously tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of built-in storage. The smartphone is also expected to feature a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone, as in the previous test, may have a triple rear camera. The camera unit may get a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. Additionally, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Edition is expected to be equipped with a 5,500 mAh battery. 3C's latest sighting seems to have confirmed earlier speculation that the smartphone could support 67W fast wired charging.

Meanwhile, another report from Xiaomiui suggests that the device has also been detected in the IMEI database. However, it was spotted here under a different name, namely the Poco X5 GT. The report added that this could be the name under which the smartphone could be launched outside of China. Additionally, the device may run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The device has been spotted with three model numbers, suggesting that there will be as many variants. The Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is said to have a model number of 23049RAD8C, while the global variant of the Poco X5 GT has a model number of 23049PCD8G and the Indian variant of the Poco X5 GT has a model number of 23049PCD8I.

However, it is important to note that Xiaomi has not provided an official confirmation of the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Edition.
