The company is doing an amazing job of bringing uniquely designed mobile phones and software positioning to the market. The design is now the main selling point of the company and it works in all its products. The 2023 INFINIX Zero 5G is the follow-up to this year's successful lineup, and we've taken the phone in for a full review.
Last year's Infinix Zero X Pro was the manufacturer's most ambitious attempt yet, pairing a 108MP camera with a 120Hz AMOLED display. While the prices seem to be in the same place, the 2023 Infinix Zero 5G does a lot more with a triple camera setup with a whopping 50MP camera sensor. Unfortunately, to keep the price of last year's models at the same level, INFINIX has reduced other parts. The company is touting the phone's 5G speed capabilities and we're excited to see if they deliver.

First glance
The phone comes in the usual attractive box with a large font announcing the model. The bottom section contains the phone's specifications, a giant label announcing Google compatibility, and another label with phone and manufacturing details. The model we have is the Coral Orange 8/256GB version.

A plastic screen protector is already installed on the phone. The Giant Wall Charger comes in white and offers 33W of power, giving convenient charging time when needed. The charging cable is very thick and works with the charger for flash charging. The soft silicone case is great with extensions that protect the camera and the corners. The corners of the phone aren't easy to get into the case, but the extra protection is worth it.
INFINIX Zero 5G 2023 - design
INFINIX has invested a lot of money and attention in appearance and has managed to design some of the most attractive phones on the market.
The front is simple with three small-edged sides and a wide "chin". Above the screen there is a hole for the selfie camera, one of the smallest on the market. The screen itself is flat and large. Above the screen is a wide, unobtrusive horizontal headphone line that is perfectly designed to hear the caller without placing a small earpiece in your ear. There is nothing else ahead.
build quality
The back panel is amazing. The phone has an amazing orange peel texture. At the bottom, there is a large "ZERO 5G" logo in large and bold letters, and the contrast of materials has a powerful display effect. While the front is a magnet for dirt, the rest of the device is completely impervious to dirt. The camera setup has 3 rectangular lenses on the top left and an LED flash on the right.
The phone feels thinner, lighter, and more compact than previous generations. We remind you that the phone has new materials to keep the price low. The main part is the waterproof cover. Therefore, they find no protection in it. It is noticeable by the SIM card tray, as it does not have a rubber seal. So people be careful with water and rain.

The 2023 Infinix Zero 5G punches its weight in pure performance, especially with its 8GB of onboard RAM. Like other 2022 phones, there's another 5GB of 'extended RAM' to reuse the phone's fast UFS 3.1 internal storage.
Impressive show!
The Zero 5G 2023 features a large 6.78-inch FHD+ LTPS display with ultra-thin bezels on the sides and top. Yeah, I know we all want an AMOLED screen and it's kind of sad. However, the front panel is good at improving quality and the image quality is very sharp, helping to forget about the high contrast of AMOLED. Although the viewing angles are very good, the screen does not dim even at 90-degree angles. On the downside, the screen isn't very bright and visible in bright sunlight.
The 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate make it a very responsive display that's also great for gaming. My main gripe, however, is the lack of Widevine L1 certification, which limits video resolution to 480p on most streaming services. While this isn't an instant deal breaker, if you want to view your content on your phone it can be a problem.
software
XOS (based on Android 12) has tons of customization options, features, themes, skins, icons, dark mode shades that make sure you never get bored of your phone. The pitcher is good. it reminds us of other good launchers like POCO launcher and the notification shade is full of options and versatility. The settings menu has many options, but it is small so that the user does not get tired. However, the software is full of pre-installed apps that unfortunately cannot be uninstalled and they broadcast a lot of notifications throughout the day, which annoys me a bit.
The speed and animations are snappy and at no time does the phone freeze or slow down. Great job INFINIX. it looks like a very promising product is ready to enter the world of Android skins. 
Powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1080 processor and 8GB of RAM expandable up to another 5GB of virtual RAM, it's that performance that sets the Infinix Zero 5G apart. I played demanding games like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in high HDR mode for several hours and got a constant 60 FPS for a long time. I also played Call of Duty (COD) Mobile and Genshin Impact on high settings, a game with very high graphics, and had no frame drops or overheating issues.
INFINIX Zero 5G 2023 - Camera
This is what most of you want to know and I am torn. The triple rear camera setup has a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. 
When bathed in sunlight, Flag Shooter can produce stunning photos with fine details clearly visible in shaded areas. Auto HDR kicks in and effectively compensates for sun exposure, letting the blue of the sky into the frame. The 2X telephoto lens works well in good light, but not at night. The shutter speed is quite slow, which will cause some shake if your hands aren't very steady. The Infinix lets you adjust f-stop values for variable depth of field when using portrait mode, though background separation isn't great.
It has a welcome 2X telephoto zoom. The images are of good quality and the colors are more or less consistent. However, I did find the images a bit blurry. This effect is more pronounced during night photography, image details are lost. Overall, while the camera is good, I expect better performance in this price range.
There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front. While overall good, the image was a bit over the top in my experience. The good thing is that both the rear and front cameras support 4K 30FPS video recording, which is a nice feature in this price range. There's a Super Night mode and a Night Filter feature for low-light shots, the main camera supports a slower 960fps, and there's a Sky Remap editing feature to turn hazy skies blue.

Auto Creation of Vivid Colors with Auto Scene Detection delivers bluer blues and brighter plants when shooting landscapes or portraits. You can capture sharp portraits and sketches in low light, and capture details at night. However, one of my favorite features is Sky Remap, which allows us to turn a cloudy day into a sunny, cloudless afternoon in software or movie mode, allowing us to create our own story. INFINIX Note: Shoot like a director in movie mode. A number of great templates are provided to make video creation easier and editing more efficient. Such skills will challenge even professional camera owners.
Selfies are good. The 16MP sensor and software work together to deliver vivid images with great color. The video is similar to the photo. Scaling is possible, but not without loss. INFINIX has managed to unlock the phone's camera, but keep in mind that it's basically a single camera, not a triple camera. The 50MP sensor is good for videos and photos, and we hope minor glitches will be fixed soon with future software updates.
INFINIX Zero 5G 2023 - Battery
Despite its slim design, the 2023 Infinix Zero 5G is packed with a powerful 5000 mAh battery. Dimensity 1080 improves battery life quite a bit and even after moderate to heavy use of the phone, gaming, video, voice and video calls, etc., the phone lasted me an average of 1.5 days. The 33W fast charging support is excellent and takes the phone from zero to full in 90-100 minutes.
INFINIX Zero 5G 2023 Review – Conclusion
INFINIX has secured a very good price for the device at $239, while the fast chip provides good response under heavy usage. And the really sleek design and excellent battery life add to the overall price. However, the software needs improvement, the speakerphone needs a boost, the camera is average at best, and the Widevine L1 is definitely missing.
