Realme 10 Pro: 3 reasons to buy, 2 reasons to skip Realme 10 Pro launched in India today : 3 reasons to buy, 2 reasons to skip

The Realme 10 Pro is the company's latest serial number phone and is the successor to the Realme 9 Pro. Now, for those who don't know, the Realme 10 series has just been launched in India. Two smartphones were introduced in a row: the Realme 10 Pro, which I used in Hyperspace color, and the Realme 10 Pro+, a phone that really impressed me in terms of design, price and interior. Unfortunately, I couldn't spend much time there.

However, I spent a lot of time with the Realme 10 Pro and here are 2 reasons why you should buy this phone and why you shouldn't miss it.

3 reasons to buy the Realme 10 Pro

1. Rigid design and sturdy construction

The Realme 10 Pro has the same weight and thickness as its predecessor, the Realme 9 Pro, but has a square design instead of a curved one. Handling the phone can be a bit of a pain at times due to the big and tall phone, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a well-built phone. Personally I'm a fan of the Hyperspace color and the back pulls a squirrel because of the glossy finish, the Reme also includes a clear shell in the box so that's great.

Of course, the Realme 10 Pro has a rugged design, and I understand that design is also subjective - what I like, what I don't like, and vice versa. But design aside, this phone is built like a tank. It has a polished metal finish. And although the back is actually plastic, it is very comfortable. Apart from that, the phone also has very clicky buttons with great tactile feedback.

Overall, the Realme 10 Pro has a great design. It's a little fiddly to use one-handed, but the build quality is minimal. I also wish the chin was a little thinner, I love how narrow the forehead is in the front.

2. Performance

The Realme 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, which is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB of storage as standard on both variants. And before discussing the performance side of this cell phone, here are some benchmark results for Realme 10 Pro.

So, considering the Snapdragon 695 SoC inside, the benchmark results for the Realme 10 Pro were decent, and I didn't encounter any overheating or crashing while running the benchmarks. But other than that, if you're looking for a budget phone that can easily handle your day-to-day tasks and the occasional game here and there, the Realme 10 Pro won't disappoint.

3. Battery Life

As for the battery, the Realme 10 Pro gets a 5,000mAh cell with 33W fast charging support. The good thing is that Realme includes a charger in the box. In addition, a full charge takes about 1.5 hours.

So, in terms of durability, the Realme 10 Pro is an absolute champion. The software optimization of the phone is excellent, it does not heat up, runs smoothly and therefore controls the battery usage very well. Wait times are also strong, and I'm talking about a 2-3% reduction overnight. And even though I use the phone a lot in my day - a few hours of video calls, casual calls, social media, YouTube and all that jazz - I end the day comfortably with 25-30% battery left. . permanently. So kudos to the Oppo. However, loading times could be better.

2 reasons to skip the Realme 10 Pro

Camera setting

On paper, the Realme 10 Pro has the famous Samsung HM6 108MP sensor for its main camera. However, a software patch for this hardware might be better. First of all, you should know that the Realme 10 Pro doesn't have an ultra-wide angle lens like the Realme 9 Pro. So apart from the main 108-megapixel camera on the back, you only get a 2-megapixel portrait camera. There is a 16 MP camera on the front for selfies.

Similar to last year's Realme 9 Pro, I wasn't overly impressed with the camera performance of the Realme 10 Pro. Regarding the details of the plan, there is no problem. The problem lies in the color science that Realme plays with on the 10 Pro. And I'm not just talking about saturated tones, I'm talking about loose finishes. Things like color and HDR performance, unexpected lighting reflections, not very sharp contrast, photos that look like they're looking through a filter when they're unclear, and a lot of stuff here and there that make me want.

Of course, credit is given where it is - good detail in Pixel photos, but when you go for a full-resolution 108-megapixel photo, detail is on another level. But otherwise, it's just acceptable camera performance. Even selfies only look good when clicked in good light, and those taken in low light are no exception.

bloatware

The Realme 10 Pro runs Realme UI 4.0 on Android 13, so you get the latest and greatest software, and most of the experience itself is lag-free and seamless. But my main gripe with Realme UI 4.0 is the amount of bloatware. And that's a lot. The company has therefore accepted this situation and is working to resolve it, which is great. But that doesn't change the fact that bloatware is a serious problem. The user experience is chaotic and the important notifications you receive are also very annoying.

Of course, if Realme had reduced the amount of pre-installed junk, the software experience would be even better, as the software itself packs some nice features along with great customization options.
