After a YouTuber claimed on social media that his aunt would die after her Redmi 6A smartphone exploded next to her on her bed while she slept, Xiaomi said it was investigating the accident.
YouTuber MD Talk YT shared screenshots of his exploding phone lying in a pool of blood on his aunt's bed, claiming that an alleged battery explosion had killed his relative who lived in Delhi - NKR. period.
"Last night my aunt was found dead, she was using a Redmi 6A, she was sleeping and held the phone on a pillow near her face, and after a while her phone exploded. This is a bad time for us. A brand that supports," - said on Twitter.
Xiaomi responded on Twitter, saying that the company is working to contact the affected family and investigate the situation.
"At Xiaomi India, customer safety is of utmost importance and we take these issues very seriously. Our team is trying to reach out to the affected family and find out what caused the accident."
A YouTuber from Haryana also revealed that the deceased's son is serving in the Indian Army and the family lives a very simple life.
