After a two-year hiatus due to health issues, the Techno Parade returns to Paris on Saturday, September 24, 2022. An opportunity to meet traditional electronic music on the streets of the city. In September, a special parade is held on the streets of the city. A techno parade with floats tuned to electronic music will delight lovers of house, drum and bass, jungle, acid techno and hardcore. 2022 marks a major turning point as the event continues to become a cultural and musical phenomenon. While many people come to dance to wild tunes mixed with big names in the electronic scene, few know the origins and history of Techno Parade. like this!
It all started when then culture minister Jack Lang went to the Love Parade in Berlin, Germany. The event, which started in July 1989, was originally dedicated to the Berlin Wall, which divided the city into two parts. Since the fall of the wall in November 1989, the Love Parade has continued, bringing together more and more people every year. This event inspired Jack Lang to new ideas. After Music Day, Love Parade wanted to inspire to create an event to promote electronic culture and unknown electronic music.
Accompanied by Radio FG founder and Technopole co-founder Henry Morel, Jack Lang launched the first Techno Parade on September 19, 1998. Success was immediate, with 200,000 people attending the first edition. The issue also led to the drafting of a memorandum by the Ministry of Internal Affairs recognizing the cultural aspect of techno.
After that, the Electro event will start again every September in Paris. Except in 2001, when the Techno Parade was canceled due to the health crisis following the 9/11 attacks in the United States, the event was also canceled in 2020 and 2021.
2022 is the big return of this electric party event with artists such as Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclair, David Guetta, Manu Le Malin, Laurent Garnier or Carl Cox.
