A YouTuber named MD Talk YT tweeted that he lost his aunt due to an explosion of his Redmi 6A smartphone. The explosion seems to be the usual for Chinese brands, but this time they received sad news.

A woman reportedly died in India after her Redmi 6A exploded
YouTube revealed that the aunt put her phone under her pillow and the explosion happened while she was sleeping. The incident took place in the Delhi-NCR region and shocked all mobile phone users.
Hi @RedmiIndia @manukumarjain @s_anuj last night my aunt was found dead, she was sleeping using redmi 6A, she put her phone close to her face near her pillow and after some time her phone exploded. Bad time for us. It's a brand's responsibility to help," YT MD Talk tweeted.
The blast was so powerful that it shattered the screen and removed the plastic back panel. The impact of the explosion was so strong that the phone almost melted, showing the intensity of the explosion. Images posted on Twitter show a woman lying on a bed covered in blood, the images are disturbing.
This is not the first case of smartphone battery exploding in India, OnePlus Nord 2 users have faced the same issue with their phones in the past. However, this is the first case where a person has died as a result of a phone explosion.

To ensure that Chinese smartphone manufacturers use safe and healthy batteries, the Indian government needs to establish some standards for battery certification. This is a serious problem and Xiaomi needs to make sure it is.
