Android 12 Update: When Is It Coming To Your Phone?
Android 12 stable update is available here. The new version of Google's operating system made its debut on the latest Pixel 6 series, but Google has started rolling it out to older Pixel devices since day one. Android 12 is a huge improvement over its predecessor, with an overhauled design and many new features like scrolling screens, one-handed mode, and more.

But when will Samsung, OnePlus, Sony and other companies get the Android 12 update? The update is in full swing at this point and your phone may already be eligible for the latest software update. We review every OEM to give you an idea of what to expect.
When can I update to Android 12?It all depends on the phone you carry in your pocket. Some devices have already received Android 12 updates, but other devices from OEMs like LG will have to wait longer. Check the list above to find your specific make and model.
How do I update to Android 12?Once the Android 12 update is available, go to the Settings menu. If your phone has a software update option, tap it. This will check for the update and download it when it's ready.

Asus update to Android 12

Asus released the first stable update for Android 10 about two months after the operating system became available. It was also quick when it came to Android 11, with the first update rolling out around three months after launch.
Asus first updated its ZenFone 6 series to Android 11 before sending out the update to its new ZenFone 7 phones, which seemed odd. It appears to be back on track this year, with updates for the latest ZenFone 8 series rolling out first.
October 22, 2021: Asus announces update plans for Android 12 according to GSM Arena. According to these plans, we expect the update to reach existing Asus devices:
December 29, 2021: The Android 12 update is now available for the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip, according to XDA Developers.
March 15, 2922: Asus has started rolling out an Android 12 update for the ROG Phone 5, according to its ZenTalk forum.
May 16, 2022: Asus releases Android 12 in the Zenfone 7 series.
Google Android 12 update
Pixel phones are always among the first to receive the stable update for the new Android version, and this year is no different. Google started rolling out the update on day one, but not on all phones, more on that later.
October 19, 2021: Google begins rolling out Android 12 for the Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 6 already ships with Android 12, while older Google phones won't be updated to the latest OS version. So if you own a Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL or original Pixel phones, you're out of luck.
Android 12 LG update

LG has pulled out of the mobile business but still plans to update some of its phones to Android 12. The company hasn't mentioned which phones, but we think it will only focus on its high-end devices like the LG Wing and V60.
LG released its first stable update for Android 11 four months after the operating system became available. Since LG no longer serves the smartphone market, we had to wait a little longer. So far, Android 12 has only reached the LG Velvet in South Korea and the V60 in the US. That means it should be on its way to the rest of the world in no time, but we can expect South Korea to continue getting its first updates.
March 16, 2022: LG Velvet starts receiving Android 12 in South Korea on its website.
April 4, 2022: LG has released a roadmap for devices expected to receive Android 12 in Q2 2022. These devices include the LG Q92 5G, V50 and V50S.
April 22, 2022: According to a Reddit thread, the T-Mobile version of the LG V60 is now getting the Android 12 update.
June 26, 2022: It looks like LG is finally releasing. Android 12 a la Wing, although the update is currently only available in South Korea.
July 20, 2022: According to XDA-Developers, the LG G8X will now receive Android 12. The update is currently available in India and some European countries.
July 11, 2022: Verizon variants of the LG V50 ThinQ will now receive Android 12. The update to other variants should be coming soon.
Motorola update for Android 12

Motorola released the first update for Android 10 three months after the operating system was launched. The company was a bit slower with Android 11, releasing it four months after it became available. It followed the timeline again, with the first Android 12 updates arriving in the UK in early February.
Note that Motorola has a habit of releasing updates to many of its phones in Brazil before rolling them out in the US, Europe and other regions. As a result, it may take longer for many users to see the update.
December 22, 2021: Motorola unveils its roadmap for Android 12 in a blog post. It confirmed the update for all subsequent devices, although it didn't specify a launch date beyond February 2022.
February 9th, 2022: According to XDA-Developers, the Moto G Pro will now receive Android 12 in the UK.
March 19, 2022: The Moto G30 has started receiving the Android 12 update in Brazil and Argentina, according to Motorola.
April 6, 2022: Motorola is rolling out the Android 12 update for the Edge 20 in Brazil, according to its forums.
Nokia update for Android 12

Nokia's track record with Android 10 updates has been outstanding, with the company releasing the first month after the OS became available. It was different with Android 11, as the first stable update was rolled out five months after the operating system was launched.
Nokia hasn't released a full update schedule yet, but it appears to be making rapid progress on some devices this year. The Android 12 update was rolled out about three months after the official announcement, although it's only affecting a few devices at this point.
Here are the Nokia Android 12 updates we've seen so far:
December 16, 2021: Nokia has officially started rolling out Android 12 on X20 and you can read more about the update waves here.
December 26, 2021: Nokia X10 is now receiving the update to Android 12 to control the laptop.
December 31, 2021: Some users in Finland have received Android 12 on the Nokia G50, although there is no official announcement. This is reported by the GSM Arena.
March 29, 2022: The launch of the Nokia XR20 Android 12 will spread worldwide according to Twitter users.
May 18, 2022: The Nokia G10, G20 and 2.4 now appear to have Android 12.
August 3, 2022: According to Nokiapoweruser, Nokia 5.4 should now get Android 12.
OnePlus Android 12 update

OnePlus 9 Pro
OnePlus is generally quick with updates, a trend that has continued this year. The company released Android 10 and 11 updates about a month after they became available, although they've slowed down a bit this year with an initial launch in December 2021.
As expected, OnePlus first rolled out the Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9 series, however several users encountered issues that eventually forced them to pull the update for a few days before trying again. This may mean that other OnePlus devices are waiting longer to update.

December 17, 2021: OnePlus resumes rolling out Android 12.
January 17, 2022: OnePlus announces that it will no longer provide software updates for the OnePlus 6 or 6T series, according to WCCF Tech.
February 23, 2022: OnePlus 9R is now eligible for Android 12 Beta in India according to OnePlus Forums.
February 24, 2022: Some OnePlus 8 series devices may test Android 12 beta, according to OnePlus forums.
March 21, 2022: OnePlus has released the Android 12 firmware update for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T and 9R.
Match 31, 2022: Unlocked OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro devices from T-Mobile will now receive Android 12 via PhoneArena.
May 13, 2022: OnePlus has released the stable version of Android 12 for the OnePlus 2 - learn more here.
9 June 2022: OnePlus Nord N200 appears to have Android 12 now in the US and Canada.
June 29, 2022: Android 12 beta is now available on the OnePlus 9RT, reports India Today.
July 1, 2022: OnePlus 7 and 7T will now get Android 12 update, but not permanently - find out more here.
July 26, 2022: Nord CE and 9RT now get Android 12.
August 8, 2022: OnePlus is now rolling out Android 12 for CE 2 models in India.
Oppo Android 12 update

Oppo was among the companies that released a beta version of Android 11 on day one. It then released the first stable version of the update about a month later, making it one of the fastest companies to do so.
The company is making good progress with its launch so far, with several Find and Reno devices already running Android 12. Oppo has also released one of the most comprehensive, so we already know which devices are compatible to get the latest software. .
October 11, 2021: ColorOS announced its full update schedule in an official tweet. Most of the dates listed indicate beta access, so stable updates will have to wait a bit longer.
December 1, 2021: ColorOS has confirmed its update schedule through the end of 2021. It lists the Find X3 Pro update as ongoing and provides the following dates and locations for further updates.
December 20, 2021: Oppo Find X2 Pro and Oppo Find X2 are eligible for Android 12 update in India and Indonesia according to the tweet above.
December 22, 2021: Reno6 Pro and Reno5 Pro eligible for upgrade in India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
December 28, 2021: Reno6 eligible for promotion in India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
January 17, 2022: Oppo begins rolling out Android 12 for A73, F19 Pro Plus, Reno 5Z and Reno 6Z, according to XDA developers.
January 18, 2022: ColorOS 12 update is also coming to Oppo A74 and Reno 5 Pro.
February 1, 2022: Oppo released a new roadmap detailing upcoming Android 12 updates over the next month.
February 24, 2022: According to Oppo, the rollout of Android 12 for the Reno5 K 5G, K9 5G, A93 5G and A72 5G devices will begin in China.
March 1, 2022: Oppo unveils its latest monthly roadmap with detailed plans for March.
March 22, 2022: Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G users in Thailand are now getting the Android 12 update.

April 11, 2022: Oppo has released a new roadmap for devices that will receive Android 12 in Q2.

Realme update for Android 12

Realme released Android 10 four months after its launch. It was a bit quicker with Android 11, having released it three months after it was available.
The company hasn't been quick with Android 12, but beta testing began in early 2022. Now we've seen the full version arrive on select devices. As usual, the company is primarily focusing on its high-end phones before going on the list. Realme is currently allowing users to continue participating in its beta program, which means we may still have some time before we see stable updates.
January 12, 2022: Realme has confirmed that Realme Pad will not receive Android 12 update for all GSM Arena.
January 24, 2022: Realme X7 Pro, Q3 Pro and X50 Pro devices will get early access to Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 in China and India, according to Realme.
January 26, 2022: Realme has backed down and is now bringing the Android 12 update to the Realme Pad.
February 15, 2022: According to Realme, some Realme C25 users can claim the Android 12 early access software.
March 5, 2022: Realme GT Master Explorer Edition gets Android 12 in China, according to ITHome.
March 22, 2022: Realme 8 Pro gets a stable update to Android 12.
April 1, 2022: Realme X50 Pro receives Android 12 in China via RM update.
Samsung Android 12 update

Samsung seems to be getting faster with Android updates every year. The first Android 11 update was released in December, three months after its launch. The company got even faster this year, releasing its first stable update just a month after Android 12 launched.
The company has also already published the Android 12 update roadmap, so we know which phones will get the latest Android version and when.
October 29, 2021: A UI 4.0 beta program for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 has now started in South Korea and India.
November 1, 2021: One UI 4 beta program for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 is extended to the US. Users can register through the Samsung Members app.
9 November 2021: Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra owners in the UK can now access One UI 4 Beta based on Android 12 - find out more here.
November 15, 2021: It happened quickly. Just a month after the release of the operating system, Samsung has started rolling out the stable version of Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series.
November 15, 2021: Thanks to a leaked Android 12 update roadmap, we have a pretty good idea of when your Samsung phone will get the latest Android version.
Note that this is not official information from Samsung. Additionally, the roadmap applies to South Korea, although we expect updates to roll out to other markets soon.
November 16, 2021: Samsung has now officially released its Android 12 update schedule in the US, which is slightly different from the above. As you can see below, the first phone on the list is the Galaxy S21, which has already received the update. The latest updates are expected to be released in August 2020.
December 8, 2021: Samsung seems to have stopped updating the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 after their launch in South Korea. Users reported recovery mode and network issues during the update. Learn more here.

May 18, 2022: SamMobile reports that the Galaxy A22 will now receive Android 12, but only in Russia. The update is expected to reach other markets soon. In addition, according to this report, the Galaxy A42 will also receive Android 12.

The Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III were the first Sony phones to receive the Android 11 update, which we think will be followed by the slightly older Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II.
Sony has yet to share its full Android 12 plans with the public, but we already have updates for the Xperia 1 III and 5 III in some parts of the world. Once we have a full schedule we will be sure to share more here.

March 2, 2022: Some Xperia 1 II and Xperia Pro devices are now ready for Android 12, according to Phone Arena.
April 1, 2022: Sony is now releasing the Android 12 update for the Xperia 10 III and Xperia Pro-I.
Vivo update for Android 12

Vivo released its first Android 11 update about three months after the operating system's release, and it looks like the company will be a little quicker this year. At least when it comes to beta updates. According to Vivo's Android 12 update schedule, the first beta version should hit the market in late 2021. Now we're seeing the update for some devices in early 2022, with beta versions coming to more phones.
Vivo's X70 Pro Plus will get it first, which makes sense as it's the best phone in the company's lineup. More phones will follow soon as shown in the timeline below.
