Google Pixel 8s AI Wallpapers Appear To Be Coming To Samsung Galaxy In One UI 6.1
Samsung's next major Android update, One UI 6.1, will add new features on top of Android 14 and looks to focus on artificial intelligence features. According to recently leaked images, Samsung is also using Google's AI wallpaper generator, which was previously introduced on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, excluding Galaxy phones.
AI is really a selling point for Google's Pixel 8 series, both phones include AI features and the Pixel 8 Pro really takes things a step further with added AI, especially after the removal of those features in December 2023, which is video. The boost brought the gnome to Gemini, at the top. AI models for recorders and more.
One of the funnest features is AI Wallpapers, an app for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro that lets users create their own unique wallpaper designs using artificial intelligence. No two wallpapers are the same, but users are limited to certain categories and options when creating wallpapers, and they only work when connected to the Internet.
It looks like Samsung will use Pixel 8's creative AI wallpaper in One UI 6.1 for Galaxy phones.
@BennettBuhner reported the news on Twitter/X, which posted screenshots of One UI 6.1 over the weekend, showing AI-powered wallpapers, among other things. Like Google, users are given a simple theme and then given many options to create their wallpaper. Indeed, the theme here, "Blooming," includes the prompt: "A blurred image of a lavender plant against a red space galaxy background." And on the Pixel 8 series , the same tooltip will appear with the same initial preview image.
This can't really be a coincidence as Google shares this feature with Samsung.
As shown below, the only difference between the two is the interface options: Google's preview is full-screen and Samsung's is more compact, and the Pixel says "inspire me" instead of "surprise me."
The leaked report also mentions that One UI 6.1 will apparently include weather effects on the lock screen, editing features similar to Google's Magic Editor, an "auto format" for notes, live translation for phone calls (previously announced) and voice isolation. will be and many other AI-powered photo editing features.
UI 6.1 is likely just around the corner and the update is expected to be available for the Galaxy S24 series at launch.
