Elon Musk's new biography suggests the Tesla CEO has a previously unknown third child with his former partner, Canadian musician Grimes. According to the book, the couple deliberately kept their son's whereabouts a secret.
The baby, born in mid-June 2022 - coinciding with Father's Day week - was named Tecno Mechanicus. He was given the nickname Tau, which comes from the Greek letter meaning a number equal to twice pi, which is approximately 6.28. This reflects Musk's birthday, which is June 28.
Journalist Walter Isaacson has had unprecedented access to Musk over the past two years. The birth of techno music was first reported in a New York Times biographical review titled "Elon Musk".
Taking Techno Mechanicus into consideration, Musk is said to now have ten living children with three different women.
Musk and Grimes, born Claire Boucher, first went public with their relationship in May 2018. The couple has since announced the birth of two children. Their first child was born in 2020 and was named X Æ A-Xii, or
Musk and Grimes have since split, but the musician previously said their relationship was "good."
“The Tao is amazing,” Grimes told Isaacson. He appeared with eyes that could see the depths of the soul, with great wisdom. He looked like a miniature Spock. He was definitely a Vulcan.
For the book, Isaacson interviewed Musk's ex-wife, Justine Musk, and Tallulah Riley. He also interviewed Sivan Gilis, a Neuralink executive who has two children with Musk.
Isaacson's track record also drew attention when the SpaceX CEO shut down Starlink's coverage of the Ukrainian attack in Crimea.
Musk later tweeted that he never shut down the satellite. Instead he said he never took off and that he opposed the departure. Musk said he was concerned that the planned attack could trigger a nuclear response from Russia.
