Grimes Sues Elon Musk Over Parental Rights To Their 3 Kids
Grimes has filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk, asking the court to set parental custody rules for their three children.
The 35-year-old "Violence" singer has a son, X AE A-XII, a daughter, Exa Dark Sideel, and a son, Techno Mechanicus, with an eccentric billionaire.
Musk, 52, had at least 11 children with three different women, two of them with Siobhan Gillies, director of Neuralink.
“Tell Sivan to unblock me and let Elon let me see my son or let my lawyer respond,” Grimes tweeted on Sept. 7 before quickly deleting the message.
A few days later, Grimes responded online and said she had a positive conversation with Gillies.
“Women often fight among themselves,” she writes. “Talking to Sivan, it is clear that he is an incredible person and we both want the best for our children.”
“Everything went well in the end!” Gillies responded online. “Thank you for taking the time to truly communicate and understand each other. I'm so glad we had such a good conversation, it was so touching.
Musk and Grimes started dating in 2018 and broke up in March 2022. The couple has never married, and in such situations the courts are often used to establish custody arrangements.
The San Francisco Standard reported that Grimes filed the motion Sept. 29. Musk did not respond in court Tuesday.
"In most cases, the motivation is that they want an order for child custody or child support, but the request is to establish the paternity of the child," Bay News Area family attorney Deborah Dubroff told the outlet.
In addition to his three children with Grimes and two with Gillies, Musk had six children with his first wife, Justine Musk. Their first child, Nevada, died at just 10 months due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Musk has said he wants to have as many children as possible to solve the "global crisis of underpopulation."
