After weeks of leaks, Tecno has finally officially launched its latest foldable phone – the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G.
The company's first foldable phone, which was unveiled at a special event in Singapore, is slim and elegant and has a unique circular display that makes it stand out from the crowd.
And you'll probably need one too, as it'll be competing with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra in the coming weeks. However, while pricing and availability have yet to be announced, the brand's other devices fall well short of the competition, so you might find the Phantom V Flip a very tempting option, especially considering its features.
Available in two colors: Mystic Dawn and Iconic Black. The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset and 8GB of RAM. There is 256GB of internal memory and a 4000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The phone can be charged up to 50% in just 15 minutes and the battery can be fully charged in just 45 minutes.
The external screen is nicknamed "Planet" and measures 1.32 inches. It uses an AMOLED panel and has a pixel density of 352 pixels per inch
It gives you access to a variety of interactive applications and features, including customizable wallpapers and 3D virtual pets You can also use it to play music, access the camera or reply to messages
There are also widgets that can provide you with the latest weather forecast or set a timer.
At the edge of the screen is the asteroid belt camera module. It has two cameras: a 64-megapixel main camera, which Tecno says has the highest resolution available on any foldable phone today, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
When unlocked, the phone sports a 6.9-inch full HD+ (2640 x 1080) display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole camera that can take 32MP selfies.
The design of the Tecno Phantom V flip phone is inspired by luxury fashion and high-end cars. It includes a luxurious classic leather effect with a basswood pattern on the body.
Also coming soon is a unique protective phone case that contains tiny capsules of fragrance that slowly release on the skin, lasting about a year. Customers can choose between Rose, Sea Shore and Cologne fragrances.
Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G will be launched based on Android 13 operating system and Tecno HiOS 13.5 platform. This allows you to use circular UI elements on the front screen.
It will be launched in India first at an early bird price of Rs 49,999 (approx. $598). Considering the Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at $999, the price difference is enough to make Samsung look bigger.
