German Trance Producer Stevie BZet Dies, Aged 62
German trance producer Stevie B. Zeit has died. He was 62 years old.
The Frankfurt-born producer, real name Steven Pritzky, is considered one of the artists who helped push the trance sound forward in the early 1990s.
Ralph Hildenbeitel, a close friend and frequent collaborator, announced his death on Facebook last week.
He wrote: "Goodbye Steven, I'm at a loss for words and still thinking about the death of Steven, Stevie B. "I was 17 years old when we met, we've done and tried a lot together. When I was in school, we played in a band [during] the great Ain Q years, the Shalbau era and a lot of stuff. Movie soundtracks together...thoughts for your loved ones.
Bye Steven, I have no concrete words and still Steven, Stevie B. Zeit died in the past…

As MixMag explains, B-Zet not only helped shape the sound of trance music in the '90s, but spent much of his career working closely with Sven Vet. Pilot:
Fata also paid tribute to the musician on social media, describing him as "a musician of exceptional talent" and "an incredible person whose passion and dedication to music touched us all."
And it began. "It is with great sadness that we remember today our dear friend and musical partner Steven Pritzky, by artist Steve B. Zeit" "We spent countless hours in the studio laughing, dreaming and making music. Stephen had a talent for immersing himself in his music and capturing it with his own unique sensibilities and emotions.
"Dear Stepan, you will leave a void in our hearts that no one can fill, but we will."
Musician Christian Smith has paid tribute to the late producer X (formerly Twitter), describing him as one of the genre's pioneering artists, long before it became "saturated and commercial".
