Deathbound Trailer Reveals TechnoMedieval Soulslike For 2024
Publisher Tate Multimedia and developer Trialforge Studio have announced Deathbound, a medieval soul-like tech game coming to PC via Steam in 2024. The action-RPG project's official reveal today was a teaser trailer which introduced players to the dark corners of Akratia. a city in the world called Ziêminal, where life and death clash. While most of the footage is said to be "in-game", the best look at the game comes in the middle of the video, where the player character is seen using a special ability to take on a strange boss. You can get a glimpse of what Trialforge and Tate are up to in the Deathbound trailer below.
Like many other Soulslike titles, Deathbound promises tough combat, an unforgiving world, and action-packed RPG gameplay. However, Trialforge added a few features that it hoped would set it apart from the crowd, namely the lock system. As hinted in the trailer, this feature allows players to absorb the essence of other Deathbound fighters. Their abilities and stances are interchangeable, giving players the freedom to approach combat as they see fit. Deathbound also features attack morphs, attacks that incorporate the power of the absorbed warrior.
Deathbound is set in a collapsing civilization where the conflict between fanatical beliefs and natural science has destroyed the world of Ziêminal and the great city of Akratya. During the Crusade, players will face vicious monsters that will test the will and courage of anyone who knocks on their door. In Ziêminal there is no good or bad, only justification.
Today's announcement confirms that Trialforge and Tate are collaborating on Deathbound , but it's not the first time we've seen the project in action. Trialforge has featured several of its designs in recent years. For example, at Devcom 2020, the studio gave us a great look at the early experience:
As of now, Deathbound is only confirmed for PC via Steam at an undetermined date in 2024. Don't forget to follow us for more updates.
