Summer Samsung Unpacked 2023: Everything Announced At The Event

This year's Samsung Unpacked summer edition was challenging to say the least. Not only has the company unveiled its latest wave of foldable phones, it has also unveiled major updates to its lineup of smartwatches and tablets. But don't worry if that's too much - here's what Samsung showed off at the event

Check out the Galaxy Unpacked highlights of summer 2023

If 7pm ET is too early to watch live, don't worry. We've shortened Samsung's Summer Unpacked presentation to a more reasonable nine minutes. You can watch the highlights of the talks here, including all the main product presentations.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5

Somehow this year's foldable phone highlight is the "first" flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The new model has a larger 3.4-inch external display than its predecessor, allowing you to reply to messages, use Wallet and perform other tasks that required unlocking the phone. The new hinge design also eliminates the gap when the tube is closed. You can expect a faster native Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and double the storage. It will start at $999 and will be available for pre-order through Samsung and Amazon before its August 11 release.

Galaxy Watch 6

Perhaps the biggest update of the summer unpacked is Samsung's smallest computing device. The company unveiled the Galaxy Watch 6 family, which brings a welcome update to its Wear OS watches. In particular, the rotating bezel is back: buy the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and you can easily scroll through apps and gadgets. Both models offer bigger and brighter screens, better processors, bigger batteries and a one-click strap change system.

The Galaxy Watch 6 line will go on sale from August 11. You can pre-order through Samsung and Amazon starting at $300 for the base model and $400 for the Classic.

Galaxy S9 Tab

Samsung has responded to unboxing fans of high-end Android tablets by introducing the Galaxy Tab S9 line. While the design hasn't changed much (mostly slimmer bezels), it's still a big upgrade with a variable refresh rate AMOLED display, a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, louder speakers, and IP68 water and dust resistance for the included tablet and S Pen.

The series will go on sale on August 11 with pre-orders opening on Samsung and Amazon. The 11-inch Galaxy Tab S9 starts at $800, while the 12.4-inch Tab S9+ starts at $1,000. The massive 14.6-inch Tab S9 Ultra costs at least $1,200.
