Kesha Says She ‘almost Died This Year Before Doctors Found ‘serious Medical Issue
Kesha has opened up about the time she "almost died" following a medical emergency earlier this year.
The 36-year-old American pop singer told Russ in an interview that she had CVID (common variable immunodeficiency) last year.
CVID affects an estimated 25,000 to 50,000 people worldwide and can cause the immune system to mistakenly target healthy parts of the body. Symptoms vary widely, but can include fatigue, digestive problems, and problems such as lung disease.
"I almost died in January," Kesha (full name: Kesha Rose Sebert) said.
Last year, the "Tik Tok" singer had her ovaries removed as part of infertility treatment. Played in the Bahamas until he got sick on New Year's Eve and couldn't walk.
After being hospitalized, it was revealed that he had suffered "rare but serious" complications from the procedure, which may have been partly linked to his weakened immune system. He was later taken to a hospital in Miami, where he remained for nine days.
"I think I finally recovered, but it took several months," said the artist. - It was terrible.
Referring to the infertility treatment that caused the health scandal, Kesha said: "I have taken my reproductive health into my own hands. "I'm with everyone who does this, and I see your body [with respect]."
Kesha rose to fame ten years ago with the bestselling albums Animal (2010) and Rainbow (2017). His latest record, Gag Order, was released in May.
