Vivo Launches The V27 Pro In India, A Photography Focused Midranger
With the Vivo V27 Pro, Vivo has presented its new upper mid-range smartphone for the Indian market.
Despite being a relatively cheap phone, it packs some serious camera specs, including one of the best-equipped selfie cameras we've come across.
The center-aperture lens offers an impressive 50MP resolution for autofocus, and this is aided by Vivo's Aura Light portrait system, which uses artificial intelligence to help you look your best.
On the back there is a 50 MP Sony IMX766V optically stabilized sensor as the main camera. This is an improved version of the original sensor used in phones like the Asus Zenfone 9 and Nothing Phone (1), so we know it's pretty capable. It's backed by a somewhat impressive 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP super macro lens.
"The latest V27 Pro offers users a premium smartphone experience with flagship-level portrait cameras and a powerful 4nm chip," said Spark Ni, Vivo's senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
We're talking about the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chip, which is said to offer excellent gaming performance and battery life for many affordable phones.
If you're hoping to use it for some games, you'll be glad the display looks promising. It sports a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with curved edges, along with image enhancement software tools.
Vivo claims it's the thinnest curved-screen phone yet at 7.36mm thick.
Aesthetically we have a similar finish to last year's V25 Pro. The back of the Magic Blue model is made of AG Fluoroglass, which is easily damaged by UV rays.
If you prefer something a little more subtle, there is also a black model. However, it still has some softness with a shiny texture that shines in certain light.
Finally, it packs a generous 4600mAh battery and comes with a 66W Vivo FlashCharge wall adapter. This should get you 43% battery in 15 minutes and a full charge can be completed in under an hour.
The Vivo V27 Pro is available today in India starting at $459. As far as we know, this model won't be getting a wide version, but we'll let you know if that changes.
