MEUTE is an 11-piece techno marching band performing techno, house and deep house songs from renowned producers. In addition to the original compositions, Hitt's compositions have been arranged for brass band instruments. On Friday, November 18, MEUTE TAUMEL was released .
The 12-track corpus includes heartbreaking techno, deep house sounds, energetic beats, amazing instruments and more. Indeed, the group from Hamburg proves that they bring a new sound to dance music.
According to trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, who founded the band in 2015, TAUMEL means "fall" in German. Also in German, the word can mean a feeling of dizziness or ecstasy. There is also the word Freudentamel , which means ecstasy, so there is an ambiguity from TAUMEL .
"It's about the many feelings you get when you're in isolation and out of control of everything," he said. "Sometimes it can be beautiful... You can fall in love, or maybe because you're not sure. This describes our situation in the last two years [Covid-19] has stopped all cultural life in the world."
Berhorn said that the "Peace" LP is about finding words for inner peace, peace with the outside world, and peace between nations, especially these days. “We want peace on earth, and I think that many people around the world do not understand why humanity cannot find solutions to bring peace to the world,” he said. “Even if it sounds a little romantic or naive, this is what we stand for: world peace. That is why we travel the world and want to show that there is no reason to have borders between countries.
"[Music] is something universal," he added. “This is for everyone. We've never had an experience where we don't have a resonance between music and people. same". resonant vibrations, and We believe that this is exactly what we need: human resonance.
Berhorn has said that the band formed because he is a trumpeter and a fan of brass and techno music. The instrumentalist used to go to raves and liked "the feeling of a DJ stepping on stage and as the night goes on it gets more hypnotic and euphoric and the crowd...is very emotional." He added that while nothing was happening on stage, there was only one DJ, noting that the atmosphere revolved around the music. He formed the band because he thought it would be "interesting and spectacular" for a live band to play the same music as DJs, especially minimalist techno.
“You see, in this realm of the techno orchestra, there is a whole universe where we are the first to understand what is happening in this universe,” Berhorn said. "It's an idea... it's part of our philosophy."
