Artist Spotlight: Idioteque Continues To Push Boundaries
Across the pond in London lives *Idioteque, an up and coming producer in the al-electronica scene.
Like many other artists, he started releasing his music on *SoundCloud. His first music debut was a free download of the single "Vendetta" on a music sharing service. "Vendetta" debuts on 140, a 140bpm style of electronic music and draws influences from genres such as dubstep, techno and drum and bass. It was very well received and the music continued to grow as a result.
Following the success of Vendetta, Idioteque began releasing more music, most notably the release of the track Morality in 2020. It was released on the Dubstep platform DUPLOC and quickly became a hit with fans and the platform itself thanks to it. a sound that incorporated static synths with steady drum beats and intermittent church bells in the latter part of the song. Later, the fuzzy sound was selected for the DUPLOC SELECTS platform.
Following the success of their 2020 debut, Idioteque continues to release music. In 2022, he released his debut EP *Keeping You Alive = Killing Me. It was noted as one of his first works, with lyrics and vocals from other new artists such as *Sheba K on the track "Wrong". Includes "Odyssey" and Enigma Toulouse spoken word poem "Seascape 9".
After that, the novice producer continued to release singles. One of them, known as "Richie April," the Spotify editor made singer and collaborator Issa K.
However, his last two releases, "Brand New Page (feat. *Reptile B)" and "Dedication (feat. *Swan Diver)" are some of his best work to date.
"Brand New Page" combines minimal space synths, guitars and drums with instrumental music. It is then charted under British rapper Reptile B. That's before the style takes a darker turn, with a more upbeat chorus and Idiotech's own bridge that makes for a surprisingly well-structured track.
"This song is taken from a poem I wrote recently, and then became the main chorus of the track," the musician wrote on Instagram.
“During the turbulent few years that affect us all, I reflect on the gradual loss of childhood enthusiasm and innocence combined with the growing complexity of adulthood. He feels the reverse conversation with a younger, more innocent man. I drew parallels between the life cycle of humans and trees turned into paper; about the challenges we face in life and how those experiences shape us."
Growing up isn't easy, and it's hard to look back at the innocence of your youth without feeling nostalgic for the dark ages of adulthood, and the title captures that feeling perfectly.
Offering, on the other hand, has a spacey, almost lo-fi sound that has been described as a new take on trip-hop, or a subgenre of music that combines elements of hip-hop, electronica, and psychedelia.
Idioteque uses these elements to create their own style, using repetitive drum beats, interesting sound effects and smooth, deep bass. They move forward into acoustic guitar riffs and steady vocals.
“As time goes on, I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to the music I want to make. I'm developing my own sound, seeing more of my main influences emerge, and feeling more creative than ever. Now that you are." If I work with my guitar and use a more natural recording technique, it's refreshing and evolving." And it's very important for me not to do the same thing over and over," the musician explains in another Instagram caption. The message.
Georgia-based artist Swan Diver's lively, soulful lyrics and atmospheric vocals are all driving elements. Lyrical imagery is the main highlight of the song, and after taking a closer look at Swan Diver's Spotify page, it's no surprise that love lyrics are cited as a major source of inspiration.
For the narrator, the text describes the resistance to change and the struggle against pain, acting as a struggle between light and dark and inner turmoil. The narrator wants to escape the pain of his life, but he has become so used to it that he is trapped by it, and it is almost impossible to let him go. With that in mind, this is beautifully illustrated in the artwork created by artist Jesse Kilgore.
The electronic producer found success outside of the studio earlier this year at England's Project 6 festival.
It's clear that Idioteque is on the rise and should be a producer to watch on the electronic platform in the coming years.
