Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has introduced an improved internal imaging chip V3 as part of its broader efforts to improve its technological prowess and stand out from its growing competition.

The V3 chip, which uses a 6nm process, came after it took the top spot in China's smartphone market in the second quarter of this year, even as the overall market contracted.

The new V3 chip features a newly developed multi-parallel AI-ISP architecture and second-generation Frame Information Tunneling (FIT) technology, which Vivo says delivers a 4K cinema-like blur-quality user experience. . In the camouflaged areas created by the image.

In partnership with German optics company Zeiss, Vivo has announced the design of a periscope lens with new "Vario-Apo-Sonnar" standards that offer high-quality zoom and macro photography capabilities.

According to recent data from market research firm Canalys, Vivo is the leading smartphone vendor in China with an 18 percent market share in the second quarter of this year.
