If there's one thing Realme phones have been consistent across their portfolio, it's the tactile feel they offer. The Realme 11 Pro Plus is no different, combining comfort with great design. Priced at Rs 27,999, this is the most stylish phone in the segment in my opinion.
The Realme 11 Pro Plus is packed with features, including a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, 200MP camera, 100W fast charging and more. However, it is important to note that impressive specifications on paper may not always reflect the actual software experience. Here's what you need to know before buying the Realme 11 Pro Plus:
Realme 11 Pro Plus OK
Realme 11 Pro Plus is a mid-range smartphone with a great display. None of the Pixel 7a, Poco F5, iQOO Neo 7 Pro, Vivo V27 Pro and others are offered. This is thanks to the vegan leather developed in collaboration with the famous ex-Gucci designer Matteo Menotto. Smartphone companies always work with designers, but this design looks classic and elegant and sets the Realme 11 Pro Plus apart from its competitors, especially in the Sunrise Beige color.
Due to the rounded edges and low weight of 189 grams, the device is comfortable to hold. It weighs (183 grams) as it lacks artificial leather in the Astral Black color version, Solar Rice Beige and Oasis Green versions. But there's no Gorilla Glass protection on the front, as it's covered in "dual gloss glass." I dropped it a few times during my two weeks (albeit reluctantly) and it stayed intact.
The Realme 11 Pro Plus has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution (2412 x 1080 pixels). The screen curves slightly on the side, which is good for the look and doesn't feel bad. It's comfortable to watch in direct sunlight and bright enough to watch videos. However, unlike its Xiaomi and Poco counterparts, it does not support Dolby Vision. The speakers are good with Dolby Atmos support.
The new Realme phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. It works flawlessly in everyday life, there is no lag or stutter in the user interface. Browsing Twitter, Chrome and Instagram, multitasking between productivity apps like Asana, Teams and Slack is no problem. However, if you plan to play games for a long time, this phone is not for you. The best thing is to check out the new iQOO Neo 7 Pro.
Realme 11 Pro Plus packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging. It lasts all day unless you are a heavy user. I like my phone to charge from 10% to full in 30 minutes.
The Realme 11 Pro Plus has a 200 MP primary camera that supports 2x and 4x sensor zoom, which Realme calls a "loss". It's not optical zoom, but it's better than digital zoom. It more than makes up for the lack of a telephoto lens, but you can't expect the zoom to be as good as a dedicated telephoto camera. The main camera takes good photos with good detail on a clear day.
Although the shutter speed is fast, I found the subject to be blurry most of the time. Sometimes clicking a moving subject is fine, but sometimes I get a picture with a blurry face. Dynamic range is usually good, but again I shot with a sky background where the background was washed out. However, the Realme 11 Pro Plus mostly takes beautiful photos. A 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera can be used.
The only annoying part of the Realme 11 Pro Plus is the software. Based on Android 13, it runs Realme UI 4.0 which is mostly user-friendly. But it's not as clean as I want. You need to be comfortable with the technology to use this phone comfortably, otherwise you will be bombarded with unwanted notifications.
When I set up a new phone, I log into my account and let all my apps update and install, which takes a few minutes. Meanwhile, I left the phone on silent. After I finished, I saw notifications of apps that I didn't use on Realme 11 Pro Plus. This includes the App Market, Game Center and more. Then there are preloaded folders like "Hot Apps" and "Hot Games" with random app suggestions. There are also a lot of pre-installed apps that might be of interest to some, but not to me.
All of these can be disabled or removed with a few taps, so if you know how to remove them, this shouldn't be a problem for you. But this can be a problem for people who are not tech savvy and want their phone to work for them.
Should you buy the Realme 11 Pro Plus?
Rs 27,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs 29,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is a great value for the Realme 11 Pro Plus. You get good design, display and performance, battery life with fast charging and basically a good camera. If you're familiar with turning off notifications and uninstalling apps, the Realme 11 Pro Plus is a good choice.
