After a full week of flurry, unsettled weather and intermittent winter conditions, the Techno 293 European Championship, organized in collaboration with the International Division and the Italian Surf Federation, ended on a clear sunny day at Circolo Surf Torbole in Garda Trentino.

It was a joy to see so many young people (270 from 16 countries) competing, even though they did not have a Nordic representative and could not train during the winter. Important data, especially under the age of 13 and 15, and prove that there are as many passionate young women as boys.

The techno class, before the young people begin to be raped, is said to be necessary to prepare the sailors for the regatta and to introduce the young people to the wonderful world of sailing and racing.

They came from the south to the north of Italy, and in addition to the large participation from Greece, Turkey, there were also teams from Estonia, Great Britain and Hungary. The top of Lake Garda did not disappoint us; Even though it was unstable and sometimes stormy, the wind always allowed us to race, thanks to the quick work of the two race committees. Considering the cold temperature of the air and water, they decided to run every day after noon. In total, there are ten races for the senior U17 and plus fleet, nine for the under 13s and the under 15s.

On the last day, the south wind was blowing at 12-14 knots which allowed for three beautiful and spectacular slides. And seeing the two athletes on stage, which confirms the great work that has always been done among the youngsters, is a great joy for the club organizer.
