design and build
In terms of design, the Oppo Find X6 Pro and Oppo Find X6 are practically identical. Both have large round camera bays on the back that occupy the top third of the back of the device. It's not typical, but it's an interesting design that deviates slightly from the norm.
The center of the camera on the X6 Pro and X6 is a combination of glass and aluminum for a premium finish. On the other hand, the outer ring is designed to mimic classic camera lenses, and one of the X6 Pro models even features an orange dot at the bottom of the ring that indicates the alignment point on classic SLR cameras. Both the X6 Pro and X6 also carry Hasselblad branding, so their camera capabilities are a real asset.
Elsewhere, the X6 Pro and X6 devices feature curved-edge displays with the camera in the center of the punch hole at the top. The X6 Pro is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has an IP68 rating, and also offers a leather finish for either model, making it a bit more premium than its X6 sibling.
However, the X6 is thinner and lighter, and while the finish differs from the Pro model, the design is nearly identical.
Show
The Oppo Find X6 Pro and Find X6 have AMOLED screens, so colors should be bright and vibrant, with the deep blacks typical of OLED screens.
The Find X6 Pro has a slightly larger screen than the Find X6 at 6.82 inches, while the Find X6 is smaller but still large at 6.74 inches. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 6.8-inch screen, so it will be in the middle of these two devices in terms of size.
Besides the size difference, there are other differences as well. The X6 Pro has a higher resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels, at a pixel density of 510 ppi, while the X6 has a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels, at a pixel density of 450 pixels.
The X6 Pro is also brighter than the X6, with a typical brightness of 1,500 nits and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, beating out the Apple iPhone 14 Pro with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. For comparison, the X6 has a peak brightness of 1450 cd/m² and a typical brightness of 1100 cd/m².
Both have the wide color gamut of the P3, but the X6 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and an adjustable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, while the X6 has a 120Hz refresh rate, but not adjustable.
equipment and batteries
There are also some differences under the hood of these two models. The Oppo Find X6 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with a maximum core frequency of 3.187GHz, while the Find X6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 mobile platform with a maximum core frequency of 3.05GHz.
We suspect there won't be much difference between the two models in everyday use, although you might notice some differences in slightly more demanding tasks.
Both base models come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and both get 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The X6 Pro also has an option in the middle with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Neither model supports microSD for memory expansion, although all have LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 ROM.
There are also some differences in the battery. The Find X6 Pro has a 5000mAh battery compared to the Find X6's 4800mAh battery. It's really a small difference, especially considering the Pro model's larger screen, although the Pro model also supports faster download speeds.
The Find X6 Pro offers 100W Super Flash charging and 50W wireless flash charging, while the Find X6 supports 80W Super Flash charging and doesn't have wireless charging. We actually talked for a few minutes about how much faster the X6 Pro charges than the X6, but the lack of wireless charging may be more of a factor depending on your preference.
In terms of hardware, both models support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, and both have USB-C headphone jacks.
camera
While the Find X6 Pro and Find X6 both have triple rear camera systems with a 50MP main telephoto, 50MP ultra wide-angle and 50MP periscope telephoto, there are a few differences between the offerings if you want to dig deeper. .
The main camera Find X6 Pro has a 1-inch sensor with an aperture of f/1.75 and optical image stabilization. The goal here is to provide a large surface area to catch light for better images in all conditions.
The X6 Pro's ultra-wide-angle camera also has a large sensor. This is a 1/1.56-inch f/2.2 sensor with a 110-degree field of view, so again, for its size, it should be able to produce very good quality images.
But what Oppo is most excited about is the periscope telephoto lens. It also uses a 1/1.56-inch, f/2.6 sensor with 2 µm pixels. This in turn means that this zoom is also good in low light. It's definitely a 3x optical lens, but offers up to 120x digital zoom.
The Oppo Find X6 has the same periscope lens as the X6 Pro, but the main camera is slightly different, with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture. Optical image stabilization is still present, but the sensor is slightly smaller than the X6 Pro. The ultra-wide sensor is also slightly different, with an nf/2.0 aperture and a 112-degree field of view.
On the front, both the X6 Pro and X6 have a 32-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture and autofocus. In terms of video recording, both devices can shoot 4K footage at 60fps from the rear camera, while the front camera handles 1080p footage at 30fps.
Oppo Find X6 Pro vs Find X6: which one to choose?
Initially, the decision between Oppo Find X6 Pro and Find X6 will depend on whether you can afford it. This is exclusive to mainland China at the moment, and while Oppo usually releases devices in the UK and Europe, there's currently no confirmation as to whether this will be the case for the Find X6 Pro and Find X6.
However, if two devices are to be presented, the Find X6 Pro may be what you want, with a more advanced mobile platform, a more premium finish and a more capable camera system.
However, the Find X6 offers good value for money. So if the X6 Pro doesn't make it to your country or your budget just isn't close enough, the Find X6 has a lot to offer.
