The Morning After: Samsung Is Reportedly Sourcing OLED TV Panels From Rival LG
TV, speaker, refrigerator, toothpaste (maybe?) etc. between Samsung and LG. Both Korean manufacturing companies have a long-standing rivalry. According to the report, LG Display is expected to supply two million panels next year, and 3 million and 5 million panels in 2025 and 2026, respectively. These high-end white OLED panels will be 77 inches and 83 inches. Samsung may have more premium TVs.
Samsung can help with OLED. According to marketing firm Omdia, OLED occupies 6.1 percent of the TV market. LG Display's sister LG Electronics leads with 54.6% of the market, while Sony has 26.1%. By the way, Sony also uses LG parts.
